What is Wayist Classic Karman Active Meditation Like?

It is all in the flow. Like the YinYang, Active Meditation is about internal and external circular movements. Cool, calm and peaceful flow in your (seemingly) effortless movements and mind.

It is an active meditation. The Wayist principle of WuWei (doing without doing, action without acting ~ like the planets move around the sun without effort on their behalf) is central to the gracious movements in that it seems like effortless doing--and in that lies the effort, exercise and healing.

People who (understandably) look at the demonstrations thinking, "it looks like a sissy-move" are encouraged to try it out for themselves, do just two moves before you judge. It is not hard to do, but it is a healthy workout without breaking a sweat. There are other, very nice things, one can do to break a sweat but Classic Karman Meditation is not in that category.

Balance

Karman Meditation teaches balance in several aspects of one's life. Without a balanced mind, the body cannot move graciously, (seemingly) effortlessly and flow as the peaceful ocean. Without muscle tone and tendon health, the body cannot move gently. Without proper energy flow, neither mind nor body can play along in this concert, this symphony of unity in body, mind and soul.

Chakra and Kundalini Health

Karman Meditation is a soul body maintenance regime. It takes your soul body to the soul spa--so to speak. Karman Meditation helps to rid the soul body of negative (dirt) energy accumulated during the course of the day. It tones the chakras, re-establishing proper frequencies. It clears the flow of universal energy through the nadis, regulates flow of kundalini.

All Ages

People of all ages can do it -- literally from age 3 to 103 in the same group, and each individual will get out of it his/her maximum potential benefit for his/her level of expertise, fitness, health and mindset.

Wayists Do It Anywhere

To do your Wayist Active Meditation does not require music, special clothing or any special place. People do it on the sidewalk, in parks, at home, anywhere. People do it over lunch hour, before work, or after work on the way home, even before going to bed (but some say they are so energized that they cannot fall asleep). People do it barefoot, with shoes (maybe not in your high heels), in pajamas, dresses and pants. You will have better results with less restricting clothing but you can still do it. Wayists do it everywhere, notwithstanding the wardrobe.

Do It Anytime

Karman Meditation is a lovely way to start or end a day. It is a beautiful way to spend a lunch-hour. Most people don't have to shower afterward.

Do It Gentle or Hard

Classic Wayist Active meditation can also be performed with varying degrees of physical power. There is an advanced level called Forceful Classic Active Meditation that looks like Karate Kata when performed. Tradition has it that Karate and other fighting-monk martial arts styles had its origin in the active meditation tradition. Practitioners can freely adjust the level of kinetic resistance applied in the moves and thereby manage the level of muscle and tendon exercise.

Make It Harder

In most Wayist Active Meditation regimes, once you have achieved balance and flow it is possible to pushing against invisible kinetic forces. What seems to the onlooker as a slow and restful movement of a hand or foot, is experienced by the practitioner as if she is pushing against an almost-overwhelming force, or as if doing it in water--depending on the level of exercise she wants. It is an ancient principle, to work against one's own body strength. It is ideal because there are few, if any, chances to hurt yourself (although the unfit person can pull a muscle). Each person works against his/her own maximum effort.

Generally, Karman Meditation is experienced as being gentle, beautiful and restive while amazingly invigorating.

Do It Quickly or Stretch it Out

The shortest time in which one can do a Classic set is about 8 minutes. Normally, career folk who rush to and fro take 15 minutes once or twice a day. When you are not hurried, you would want to stretch a Classic out to its normal 20 minutes.

A Forceful Classic Active Meditation set can be as brief as 3 minutes, if no moves are repeated. However, people don't do it like that. Normally a practitioner will warm up by doing one or two sets of Yin-style before entering the Yang-style Karman Meditation set.
